Our Story
David began his career on Captiva Island, Florida after completing the Culinary Arts program at Rhode Island School of Design. Dave also spent six months at sea as the Officers’ Head Chef with the USS Massachusetts Maritime Academy. After taking some time off Dave returned to his craft and became the Head Chef at Café Itri in Cranston, then the Improv in Providence before opening Macera’s Italian Family Restaurant in the fall of 1995.
Booking Our Caterers
Macera’s offers special catering options for your next event. When you call our catering service we can talk you through some of your event food, serving and beverage options, as well as deciding how much food to serve for the number of guests that will be in attendance. Our caterers can be booked months in advance to help prepare and plan for your party size. Please call to ask if our caterers are available during a specific holiday or weekend.

The food here at Macera’s is, as always, fresh and cooked to order. Our nightly specials are created by Chef Luis and are sure to please.
